Week 10

This is it. The last day of class. Next time we see each other, we'll be presenting our websites and final projects. With that said, this was one of my favorite days of class. 3 whole hours where I don't have to do anything but web design! Man, life couldn't get much better. I wasn't even coding this much a day when I was running a website.

Week 9

A man by the name of Scott Carter came in to teach the class about wordpress. I don't ever want to use wordpress because it takes the challenging fun out of web designing. I prefer to slave over countless lines of code, making every web page from scratch. Nothing but dreamweaver for me!

Week 8

Our main lesson today was coding. We started off with using hour of code and playing some games to get familiar with the concept of writing code. Our lesson was finished off with a tad bit of dreamweaver. This was a great refresher for dreamweaver and just makes me realize how much I've missed doing web design. Luckily we have our own domains that I can use to create my own web page.

Week 7

We learned how to make apps. Nothing super fancy like you might initially expect, but they start with templates and have a great deal of customization about them. This might be one of the first things that I could actually use as a math teacher!

Week 6

I wasn't here in class for this week, but by looking at the website I've learned that I missed something about the podcast assignment. I'll go back in and do that at some point.

Tres Post

Today was definitely the most enjoyable time we had in class. Working as a team making a video was pretty cool. Ours was about being stuck in a spooky classroom where the teacher is purposely trying to fail us all. Two of us escape but the last person is left behind and dies. The video itself wasn't educational, but I did learn how to use iMovie and that's pretty rad.

Week Dos

I guess this blog post is supposed to recap what I accomplished last week during class. We started with our photoshop collage project where we incorporate three separate image formats into one. My scanned picture is off a beach, where I'm going to shop in some llamas eating grass from the internet and probably me doing something in the background.
It's been a while since I've done photoshop back in my web design days, and everything we learned was something I'd have not known how to do right off the bat. From using the magnetic lasso or the magic wand, I now have a couple tools under my belt in case I ever want to photoshop some math equations or something.
